ABOUT
DepartmentOFCalendar.org
This is not a government
site...
except to the extent that all citizens play a part
in shaping their lives according to their choice of actions.
"You go to
Congress and they say, 'Listen
to us, we are reactors, we are not initiators. Do
not look to us to lead the way. You go out and
create the national will and we will follow .
. .' "
-- Ted Danson to Connie Chung in a 1990 interview

When
discussions about changing to The World Calendar in
2012 include the question, "Will they let us
do that?", a fun and truthful response has been, "They
ARE us! It's not like there's a Department of Calendar, you know."
Changing
to a better calendar is a project so large that government needs
to help at all levels. The INDIVIDUALS who are our governments
are the same ones -among all of us- who experience problems with
the present calendar. Only recently has this
personal awareness gained means of translation into corrective
action. A better calendar is within our grasp.
Last
century's
world-wide
effort to begin using The World Calendar
was hindered by a lack of television, computers, satellites and
Internet -- all forms of current communication technology that
allow news and ideas to spread quickly.
That burden helped suppress The World Calendar idea before a majority
of people had even heard about it.
Let the lessons learned and applied here be that excuses fail
in the face of knowledge. When an idea as good as The World Calendar
emerges with the best reasons for it, we are not them then.
Who
better can know the best approach and have the contacts to introduce
precise legislation than people who live their lives in and close
to government?
According
to the specific laws and regulations that affect your position,
to every extent possible as a citizen, petition your government.
ASK
questions of those in leadership positions.
When could possibly be a better time than now?
Look in the mirror.
There's already a lot of consensus on the need for this;
hesitancy to act is about not knowing that.
So...what
about this DoC?
Doesn't it just encourage people to work together for
the accomplishment of a shared goal?
Well, yes.
